I walk in honor of my amazing husband, Michael Sharpe, and his battle against AML (Acute Myelgenous Leukemia). This is my 14th Light the Night Walk. At my first event in 2011, I was blessed to be at the starting line, hand-in-hand with my wonderful husband of 19 years! This year, with great sadness I will once again carry a gold lantern grieving his loss.

He fought valiantly for 2 1/2 years and I know first-hand the good LLS does for patients & caregivers. They provided brochures allowing us to understand the disease and were a great source of information & support! They help kids get back to school after Leukemia Treatment, provide financial support to those in need and fund cutting edge research - which has helped many different cancers!

I'm committed to walk & continue to pay tribute to my husband and bring hope to all those battling CANCER! LLS has been committed to funding lifesaving research and patient services for over 60 years and I'm proud to be part of this great organization!
